Is Kyle Brodziak the Real Life Happy Gilmore?

Over the summer the St. Louis Blues picked up a shifty bottom-6 grinder from Minnesota in Kyle Brodziak. He’s been a Blue-killer in the past, and has played his role to a “T” through the preseason, and into the home opener last night. However, he has looked a little unsure of himself on his feet at times, and has seemed to be skating in quicksand towards the end of his shifts. This begs the question, is he the real life Happy Gilmore? You be the judge.

Troy Brouwer & His Role with the St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues made an interesting move to change the dynamic of the locker room on July 2nd, one that saw perennial Blue TJ Oshie shipped off to Washington in exchange for Troy Brouwer, goaltending prospect Phoenix Copley, and a 3rd-round pick at next year’s NHL entry draft. The trade has seen a lot of speculation about next season from both sides, but here the focus will be on what Blues fans can expect from Troy Brouwer moving forward.

Loose Chicklets Says Goodbye to Barret Jackman

Today marked a day of mixed emotions across the St. Louis area, as the Blues decided they would not re-sign the longest currently tenured athlete in the city. Barret Jackman will not be a Blue moving forward, which marks the first move of many this summer (hopefully), as the organization moves from it’s “aging” core, to it’s younger one (per GM Doug Armstrong’s words).
